Beetlejuice 2 is well on the way. The sequel will bring back some of the classic characters as well as some new faces. One of the new characters being added to the colorful cast is Willem Dafoe. While most of the time we wouldn’t know any details on who Dafoe would be playing, he recently and accidentally spilled the beans. Turns out his character is a detective in the afterlife who was a B-movie star while living.

“Do me a favour, I said this two days ago, and I regret it, because it occurs to me that Tim Burton is probably one of those people who doesn’t like people to talk about the movie. I think he probably thought, ‘That f–ker, he should have kept his mouth shut!’ “I had a weak moment, ya know! I spilled the beans, as they say.” Dafoe told The Guardian.

We aren’t sure that Dafoe should be beating himself up as much as he is. The other cast members have had small details made available. For example, Monica Bellucci plays Beetlejuice’s wife while Jenna Ortega is set to play Lydia’s daughter Astrid Deetz.

We also love that Dafoe used “spilled the beans” in his reply. If you have seen him and Robert Pattinson quarrel in The Lighthouse, you will know why that is so funny.

Since Beetlejuice 2 filming has been completed we are sure that we won’t have to wait long to see a trailer.

The synopsis for Beetlejuice went like this:

After Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones) and teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious spirit whose “help” quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia.
