There have been more than a few Beetlejuice 2 announcements this week, y’all. Monica Bellucci and Winona Ryder top those big names alongside Micheal Keaton as Beetlejuice. Now, we have the more than amazing news that Willem Dafoe plays an afterlife law enforcement officer according to THR.
Tim Burton is also said to return with composer Danny Elfman also making a comeback to the long-awaited sequel.
In addition to Bellucci, Ryder, Keaton, and Dafoe we also have Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, and Catherine O’Hara.
The synopsis for Beetlejuice goes like this:
After Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die in a car accident, they find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, unable to leave the house. When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones) and teen daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away without success. Their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rambunctious spirit whose “help” quickly becomes dangerous for the Maitlands and innocent Lydia.
Beetlejuice 2 arrives in theaters beginning September 6, 2024.
