Netflix’s ‘Dahmer’ Series Starring Evan Peters Receives Chilling First Trailer

Published

Dahmer

Evan Peters is set to star in the upcoming Netflix limited-run Dahmer series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. This one comes from American Horror Story creator, Ryan Murphy. The series is once again exploring the cannibalistic, love-sick, serial killer with an entirely new take.

Peters is also somehow perfect to play this role. It worked in our minds, but after seeing the trailer, we can see it will one-thousand percent work in the series as well.

Netflix is giving us another bit of serial killer goodness. This time around the focus is on Jeffrey Dahmer. The 10-episode series stars Evan Peters as the notorious cannibalistic serial killer, Dahmer.

The synopsis for Dahmer goes like this:

“Dahmer chronicles the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers (Peters), largely told from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims, and dives deeply into the police incompetence and apathy that allowed the Wisconsin native to go on a multiyear killing spree.

Dahmer: Monster The Jeffrey Dahmer Story already looks incredible and we’ve only seen the trailer. The excitement of Evan Peters playing Dahmer for Ryan Murphy is already perfection.

Murphy has worked with Peters tons of times during the many seasons of American Horror Story. It makes a lot more sense now that Peters hadn’t joined the upcoming season of AHS. It appears that he was busy playing Dahmer.

There have been plenty of great people taking on the role of Dahmer over the years. A lot of them have done fantastic work. However, I’m really looking forward to seeing Murphy and Peters work together on this specific project. The series is going to follow Dahmer from the 60’s to the early 90’s.

Evan Peters ‘Dahmer’ Interview Explains How He Stayed Safe Dealing With Darkness

Dahmer

Evan Peters is one heck of an actor. His varied characters in American Horror Story and beyond that have been fascinating explorations. However, his latest deep dive is into the true story of serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer and he looks to have nailed that role entirely. It makes it all that much more interesting to hear Peters talk about what it took to stay above the darkness while working on Dahmer and getting into his headspace.

It’s fascinating to hear Peters talk about the rules that Ryan Murphy had set up going into working on this project. I’m also a fan of hearing that this series is going to be told from the victim’s perspective instead of looking at it from Dahmer’s perspective.

The synopsis for Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story goes like this:

Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims. DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is a series that exposes these unconscionable crimes, centered around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.

The 10-episode Dahmer- Monster: The Jefferey Dahmer Story arrives on Netflix on September 20.

Stephen King’s ‘Fairy Tale’ is Being Adapted by Paul Greengrass

Published

Fairy

Deadline reports that Stephen King’s next adaptation will for Fairy Tale. This one is going to Jason Bourne and Captain Phillips director, Paul Greengrass. A heck of a cinematic director for a big fantasy tale from King.

The description for King’s Fairy Tale goes like this:

“an epic tale that follows a 17-year old boy who inherits the keys to a terrifying world where good and evil are at war. The stakes could not be higher, for that world and ours, as he journeys into the mythic roots of human storytelling.”

While at first, I didn’t see the Greengrass and King collaboration line, I certainly can imagine it now. Greengrass has the capability to make this very epic if the studio backs him along the way.

We can’t wait to see what Greengrass does with this adaptation. With Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings currently battling it out on giants HBO Max and Prime, fantasy film and tv series seem to be doing very well. This makes Fairy Tale a substantial King property.

We will keep you updated on all things Fairy Tale. Stay tuned.

As part of this year’s schedule, the entire thing gets kicked off with Huluween Dragstravaganaza on October first and keeps the spooky going through the entire month.
