Tarot puts young adult characters in a situation where they must battle a cursed parlor game. Based on the trailer, it feels like a mix of Thir13ten Ghosts and Ouija. Maybe throw in a pinch of Final Destination while we’re at it.
The trailer for this slick new horror movie was released today and as far as interest goes, it has us intrigued. The film stars Humberly Gonzalez (Slumberland, Ginny & Georgia).
The plot is summarized in the minute-and-a-half trailer, but what’s really original are the menacing aberrations.
Just like in Thir13ten Ghosts, we get a whole host of ghouls for as many featured in the Tarot stack. Apparently, using this particular deck releases dark forces that come after those whose fortunes were told. Where are the Ghostbusters when we need them?

Joking aside, this one looks great. The variety of demons, each with their own dispositions and weapons, levels up a genre that usually only gets one or two vindictive evil spirits. Below are the plot details, but you can skip reading those and go right to the trailer because the plot is basically a boilerplate story.
Another interesting fact is that Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg direct the film. Cohen has written a few over-the-top action movies including Moonfall and Expendables 4 while Halberg produced them. This will be Cohen’s first time directing a feature film.
Plot: When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death.
So, does your fate include a trip to the movie theater on May 10 to watch Tarot? Let us know in the comments.
