Squid Game: The Challenge Trailer Released, Series Launches November 22nd
Netflix has just unveiled the much-anticipated trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge, and fans are in for a treat. At first glance, the reality competition series bears an impressively striking resemblance to its blockbuster Korean dystopian drama counterpart. The meticulously recreated sets and challenges showcased in the trailer are perfectly matched to the original Squid Game, blurring the lines between fiction and reality and leaving viewers eagerly awaiting its debut. If you’re a fan of the Squid Game series, then you’ll most likely love this trailer!
In The Challenge, 456 contestants from all corners of the world are pitted against each other in a series of games, vying for a grand prize of $4.56 million. Fans of the original drama will find the sets and challenges familiar, as they closely mirror those from the drama series. But the reality version introduces some unexpected twists. One such twist is the sudden announcement that contestants will have to vote out two of their peers, a scenario not seen in the original drama.
However, the show’s format isn’t the only talking point. Contestants have raised concerns about their treatment during one of the challenges. Describing their experience during the Red Light-Green Light game, one participant said, “It was like a war zone … some people couldn’t move their feet because it was so cold. … Some were crawling by the end. At least one was carried out on a stretcher.” These allegations have stirred controversy, with claims that participants had to stand motionless for hours in freezing temperatures.
Netflix and the show’s producers were quick to respond to these allegations. In an official statement, they mentioned, “While it was very cold on set — and participants were prepared for that — any claims of serious injury are untrue.”
The show, which spans 10 episodes, is a collaboration between Studio Lambert and The Garden. As contestants navigate through games inspired by the original series, along with some new additions, their strategies, alliances, and character are put to the ultimate test.
With its mix of familiar challenges, new twists, and brewing controversies, Squid Game: The Challenge is set to be a must-watch for fans and critics alike.

Radio Silence No Longer Attached to ‘Escape From New York’
Radio Silence has certainly had its ups and downs over the past year. First, they said they wouldn’t be directing another sequel to Scream, but their movie Abigail became a box office hit among critics and fans. Now, according to Comicbook.com, they won’t be pursuing the Escape From New York reboot that was announced late last year.
Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin are the duo behind the directing/production team. They talked with Comicbook.com and when questioned about Escape From New York project, Gillett gave this answer:
“We are not, unfortunately. I think titles like that bounce around for a while and I think they’ve tried to get that out of the blocks a few times. I think it’s just ultimately a tricky rights issue thing. There’s a clock on it and we just weren’t in a position to make the clock, ultimately. But who knows? I think, in hindsight, it feels crazy that we would think we would, post-Scream, step into a John Carpenter franchise. You never know. There’s still interest in it and we’ve had a few conversations about it but we’re not attached in any official capacity.”
Radio Silence has yet to announce any of its upcoming projects.

Shelter in Place, New ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ Trailer Drops
The third installment of the A Quiet Place franchise is set to release only in theaters on June 28. Even though this one is minus John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, it still looks terrifyingly magnificent.
This entry is said to be a spin-off and not a sequel to the series, although it’s technically more a prequel. The wonderful Lupita Nyong’o takes center stage in this movie, along with Joseph Quinn as they navigate through New York City under siege by bloodthirsty aliens.
The official synopsis, as if we need one, is “Experience the day the world went quiet.” This, of course, refers to the quick-moving aliens who are blind but have an enhanced sense of hearing.
Under the direction of Michael Sarnoski (Pig) this apocalyptic suspense thriller will be released the same day as the first chapter in Kevin Costner’s three-part epic western Horizon: An American Saga.
Which one will you see first?
