The “Evil Dead” series is getting a new addition, and this time, French director Sébastien Vanicek is directing. Known for “Infested,” Vanicek is planning to make a spinoff that’s not for the faint-hearted. He’s pretty straightforward about what he wants to achieve, saying, “I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
The franchise has always been about pushing limits, and Vanicek’s plans seem to follow that path. He’s looking to start shooting the movie by late 2024 or early 2025, aiming for a Halloween 2025 release. That gives us a bit of a wait, but if it lives up to Vanicek’s vision, it’ll be worth it.

He’s also got the green light to do things his way, with Sam Raimi giving him “100% creative freedom”. Vanicek even wants to add a “French twist” to the mix, which could make this movie stand out from its predecessors.
It sounds like the next “Evil Dead” movie is shaping up to be something special. Vanicek is promising a film that’s going to challenge and possibly disturb its audience, staying true to the essence of the series while bringing something new to the table. Fans, get ready for a wild ride.
