This is exciting news for this franchise. Deadline reported that a new Evil Dead spinoff movie is being directed by Sébastien Vaniček. He was hired by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures to direct this untitled film. No possible release date or title has been released. Check out more about this untitled film below.
According to Deadline, the film’s plot is being kept tightly under wraps. This will be the 6th film in the franchise. The last film titled, Evil Dead Rise, was released last year and was a major success. The film was both a hit with critics and the audience bringing in an 84% critic score and 76% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film earned a total of $147M at the box office on a $19M Budget.
Sébastien Vaniček made his feature directorial debut last year with Infested (Vermines) at the Venice Film Festival. The film went on to earn Best Picture and Best Director in its premiere at Fantastic Fest in North America. It also went on to earn a nomination for Best Motion Picture and won a Special Jury Prize at the Sitges Film Festival.
