Nicolas Cage is one of a kind. And that “kind” is our kind of crazy. His films have always embraced Cage’s brillaint freeflowing side. Recently, films like Mandy and Prisoners of the Ghostland have allowed the actor to flex that side of himself even more. The news that Cage has been cast to play the role of Dracula is the stuff that dreams are made out of and we had to pinch our selves several times to make sure we weren’t dreaming.
Cage has been cast to play Dracula in the upcoming film, Renfield. The film tells the story of Dracula’s famous henchman/slave. This production has a slew of amazing talent behind it. It is being directed by Chris McKay and being written by Rick and Morty writer, Ryan Ridley. The story comes from an outline made up by The Walking Dead creator’s Robert Kirkman.
“It’s a story about him being Dracula’s henchman, and how shitty a job that is. It’s a fun, extremely violent comedy, because I’ve got a crutch and it’s violence.” Kirkman said in a Fatman Beyond podcast episode.
McKay and Kirkman produce the film along side David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst, with Samantha Nisenboim executive producing.
After Cage made Mandy and Pig we are prepared to follow him anywhere. In Cage we most certainly trust.
