M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film Trap sounds very exciting. In fact, it sounds like an interesting throwback to the self-contained thriller of the 1990s. The whole film is said to take place at a concert and according to Shyamalan and his daughter, the new film is said to be very scary and a top-notch thriller.
“I have a new idea that I’ve started writing. It is out in 2024 and it’s very, very exciting. It’s a thriller. It’s very unusual and very new compared to what I’ve been trying to do [recently], but I’m feeling very excited about the story, so much so that I can’t wait to tell it to you guys.”
Shyamalan’s latest run of thrillers has been a total reinvention. We went from The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable to Old and Knock at the Cabin. Those films alone are a good example of the highs, lows, and side-to-sides that the director has been capable of.
The Sixth Sense’s synopsis goes like this:
Young Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) is haunted by a dark secret: he is visited by ghosts. Cole is frightened by visitations from those with unresolved problems who appear from the shadows. He is too afraid to tell anyone about his anguish, except child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis). As Dr. Crowe tries to uncover the truth about Cole’s supernatural abilities, the consequences for client and therapist are a jolt that awakens them both to something unexplainable.
Shyamalan’s Trap is set to arrive in theaters beginning August 2, 2024. Are you excited about the new film? Let us know in the comments.
