If you are a fan of ghost stories, do I have some good news for you. James Wan (The Conjuring) is set to explore some ‘real” hauntings this spooky season. Premiering October 7th, True Haunting will feature dramatized retellings of ghost encounters. Each episode will focus on a haunting using a docuseries format.
It may seem like a strange choice for Wan, given his huge success at the box office. However, when you look into his involvement in The Conjuring franchise, he may just enjoy ghost stories that have one foot in reality. If Wan can bring that same passion to True Haunting, we all may be in for a treat this year.
At the moment, not too much is known about what the series will entail. However, we do know that True Haunting will focus on two segments. Eerie Hall is three episodes long and has Neil Rawles (The Takedown: American Aryans) directing. The second feature, This House Murdered Me, has two episodes and will be directed by Luke Watson (The Swarm).
Netflix doesn’t give us too much to go on either. Their brief description of the series states: “Acclaimed master of horror James Wan brings his chilling cinematic vision to real supernatural stories.”
