OBSESSION, the upcoming dark supernatural thriller from writer/director Curry Barker, is heading to theaters nationwide on May 15th from Focus Features, and iHorror now has an exclusive new clip from the film.
The movie centers on a hopeless romantic who makes a dangerous gamble after breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” in an attempt to win over his crush. At first, it seems like his wish worked. But as reality begins to warp around him, he quickly learns that some desires come with a dark and sinister cost.
The film stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter.
Behind the scenes, the project brings together an impressive producing team that includes James Harris of Teashop Productions, Haley Nicole Johnson of Under the Shell, Christian Mercuri of Capstone Pictures, and Roman Viaris. Executive producers include Jason Blum of Blumhouse, alongside Leonora Darby, Mark Lane, David Haring, and Ruzanna Kegeyan.
Judging from the exclusive clip, OBSESSION looks like it blends romance, psychological horror, and supernatural dread into something unsettling and emotionally charged. The footage teases an atmosphere filled with paranoia and creeping danger as the consequences of the wish begin spiraling out of control.
