David Bruckner’s new chapter in the Hellraiser universe is almost here. Today Entertainment Weekly gave us our first look at both Jamie Clayton as Pinhead and a new Cenobite named “The Mask”.

“It was so visceral and so impactful,” Director, Bruckner told EW “It was a movie that really really scared me. It’s digging into things that are so troubling that I was almost afraid of the people that created it!”

Bruckner says that this entry isn’t meant to be a reboot. He told EW that there is no topping the original so this is its own chapter in the Hellraiser universe.

“It seemed like it was coming. It’s an interesting piece of casting,” David Bradley told said last month. “I don’t know Jamie. Of course, they have taken even a little bit of a wrinkle in that, because Jamie is transgender. I’m not familiar with her recent work but there was a science fiction series on Netflix several years ago called Sense8 which I was quite a fan of. Jamie was in that, and I really, really liked her performance in that.”

We are loving the look of both Clayton as Pinhead and the new Cenobite. Both are terrifying and both are continuing the vision of the terrifying Cenobites from Hellraiser history.

The synopsis for the new Hellraiser goes like this:

In the all-new “Hellraiser,” a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.

Bruckner’s Hellraiser arrives on Hulu beginning October 7.
