Jamie Lee Curtis has been a fantstic final girl. Although Laurie Strode went through various levels of learning in a trial by fire battle against a mad man, she is legend. Halloween Ends marks the last time that Curtis will step into the Halloween arena. So, it is a bit bittersweet. Curtis herself has teared up a bit during interviews while doing press for the film.
However, she really breaks down and tears up when she sees a video of fans thanking her. She breaks down in humble tears and quickly turns it around and thanks the fans for being there for the journey.
Halloween Ends has been a divisive film. I think that even with the division, we can all agree that Curtis is a force of nature and it was great to have her back for three more films.
While a lot of fans have been upset that Halloween, Halloween Kills and Ends have not much spent much time with Michael Myers or Laurie Strode; I think it is important to know that David Gordon Green’s films are a Haddonfield Trilogy. They aren’t Michael’s or Laurie’s. The film’s are made up of the entirity of the town. A lot of fans were upset when Halloween Kills shifted focus to residents of the town and then to Laurie’s daughter. They have even been more upset that Ends focused on a new character in the town. After you convince yourself to see that Green was working on trilogy made up of the town not an individual, you can begin to enjoy and respect the films.
Did you enjoy Laurie’s last dance with Michael in Halloween Ends?
