Bryan Fuller is leading the charge for the upcoming prequel to Friday the 13. In addition to the very awesome director, Bryan Fuller is joined by A24 and Peacock. The trio is bringing about a long-awaited prequel to Friday the 13 as a whole. All that is some seriously good company to be in. Well, following a Friday the 13th: Part III screening, Bryan Fuller announced some very cool news surrounding some of the casting, and the writing room power that has been added onboard.

Scream writer, Kevin Williamson is joining the writers for Crystal Lake in order to write one episode of the series. That is already some seriously rad news. Williamson writing some Voorhees content sounds magical. In addition to his addition, we also learned that Scream Queen royalty, Adrienne King (Friday the 13: Part 2) will join the series as a regular.

“Crystal Lake info from Bryan Fuller! They officially start writing in 2 weeks (writers are here in the audience).” Eric Goldman Tweeted. “It will have two scores to choose from – a modern one and a classic Harry Manfredini one. Kevin Williamson is writing an episode. Adrienne King will have a recurring role. Yay! Fuller has pitched four seasons for Crystal Lake. Only one officially ordered so far though he notes Peacock would have to pay a pretty hefty penalty if they didn’t order a Season 2. Asked if he can confirm Pamela’s role in the Crystal Lake series, Fuller replied “We’re honestly going to be covering it all. The series is covering the life and times of these two characters” (presumably he’s referring to Pamela and Jason there!)“

That is some really awesome news Friday fans! We have suffered a really long hell in the bureaucracy and red tape of a heated legal battle. It’s nice to know that we will at last see some new Friday content! Even if it is about a younger Jason and Pamela.
