Eli Roth’s long-gestating, holiday horror Thanksgiving is finally almost upon us! The original faux trailer appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s film Grindhouse in 2007. Several fake trailers made up the spaces between the two feature films to give us that 1970s classic grindhouse theater feel. Of course, one of the more popular trailers was Roth’s Thanksgiving slasher.

Over the years – fans have begged and pleaded with Roth to one day make the thing into a feature. Well, it looks like we are finally there. Today, Roth unveiled the trailer for Thanksgiving, and boy, oh boy is it everything that you hoped it would be.

Of course, Thanksgiving takes place in a small town during the holiday as a slasher unleashes hell on its townsfolk. A lot of elements from the original Thanksgiving faux trailer was certainly pulled from one of Roth’s favorite slashers, Pieces, and you can tell that this film borrows from that classic film.

Thanksgiving arrives in theaters this November. We can’t wait to dig into this large portion of holiday horror. What are your thoughts on Roth’s Thanksgiving? Let us know in the comments section.
