The narrator of this trailer is doing his best Percy Rodriguez impression. He was the voice-over actor behind some of the 70s greatest trailers such as Jaws and The Exorcist. He died in 1987, so it’s almost jarring to hear his voice come through on the latest trailer for Children of the Corn.
Forget what you know about the Linda Hamilton movie based on a short story by Stephen King, this one is completely different.
“Possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield, a twelve-year-old girl in Nebraska recruits the other children in her small town to go on a bloody rampage and kill all the adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.”
One interesting fact is that this movie was filmed during the height of the pandemic. It had to shut down production because of it, but now it’s seeing the light of day thanks to RLJE Entertainment and Shudder.
In theaters March 3 and On Demand March 21.
