This one won’t be out until next year, but it’s now high on our list for 2026. From the synopsis below, we gather that it is some kind of tchotchke horror. You know, where an object is the main villian; it wreaks havoc on people’s lives just by having it in their possession.
That would make sense since Whistle is produced by John Friedberg, the man behind Oz Perkins’ The Monkey. In what looks like another take on death coming for you, Whistle is directed by Corin Hardy and stars, Dafne Keen, Nick Frost, Sophie Nelisse, Michelle Fairley, and Ali Skovbye.
“A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.”
