Parker Finn’s Smile remains number one at the box office. The atmospheric film creeps under your skin and stays there by creating a world where every moment feels like a nightmare. Finn’s Smile was based on his earlier short Laura Hasn’t Slept. The short premiered at SXSW and had a very creepy vibe all its own.
The main actress, Caitlin Stasey actually plays the first afflicted person that you see in both Laura Hasn’t Slept and Smile. Even some of the dialogue used by the character is exactly the same in the short and the feature.
Smile has scared up $100 million at the worldwide box office. The film is likely to remain in the top two even after Halloween Ends arrives in theaters.
