I Saw the TV Glow is Jane Schoenbrun’s directorial follow-up to 2021’s We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. It is getting a theatrical release on May 3. But first, we get a trippy look at this A24 horror film via the full-length trailer.
Schoenbrun’s work as a writer, producer, and director is arguably comparable to David Cronenberg’s in that they also are psychologically disturbing with elements of technology as a catalyst. They also tend to delve into the human psyche as their characters face conflicts in reality that border on hallucinatory psychoactive trips.
These elements can be seen in the official trailer for I Saw the TV Glow with its psychotropic visuals and mysterious plot. Take a look:
The movie follows a teenager named Owen who lives in the suburbs, “when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.”
I Saw the TV Glow will be released in theaters on May 3.
