A TikToker says he captured a real Bigfoot on camera and it’s the best evidence of their existence since the Patterson/Gimlin tapes from 1967.

Amazingly, social media influencers capture all kinds of clear paranormal activity, while scientists whose actual job it is to do the same thing aren’t so lucky. Or the footage they capture always looks like it was filmed using a potato.

If we sound skeptical, it’s because we are. One of the reasons is that nowadays you can create anything using CGI, or put a friend in a costume and film it on your advanced iPhone. Take for instance this recent video of Bigfoot that has gone viral.

The footage was captured in Lawton, Oklahoma, and shows a Sasquatch having a private moment sitting in front of a tree nibbling on some flora. The creature suddenly spots the person taking the video and is jolted out of his happy place. We aren’t saying the footage is a hoax, but any great practical effects artist could create the same thing with a Wookie costume and great lighting.

However, we will say that if you slow down the footage it appears the creature has facial expressions, something that might be hard to replicate using a Spirit Halloween getup.

We will leave it to you to decide on whether this is just another attempt at likes and views or we now have officially confirmed the existence of cryptids.

While you make up your mind, we will be watching another internet phenomenon that is real: Moo Deng, the baby pygmy hippo.
