MGM+ and Blumhouse Television make a marvelous delivery of the new action-thriller-horror flick, The Passenger. With Director Carter Smith at the helm, The Passenger is a ride worth taking! Randy (Johnny Berchtold) is working in a burger fast food joint and is living a meaningless existence. Randy would instead continue slipping into the background’s shadows, doing his job and wanting to travel straight home afterward. One day during the shift, coworker Benson (Kyle Ganner) snaps, taking matters into his own hands when the bullying with Randy goes too far with the other coworkers. The flight is on now, and Benson makes Randy take an unforgettable road trip.
The Passenger is about two broken people and a lot of repressed emotions. Director Carter Smith and Writer Jack Stanley do a spectacular job adding some horror elements throughout this multi-genre film. The acting is impressive, with everyone’s performance on point, and feeling sympathetic for the film’s characters is not difficult.
The Passenger is a film that will stick with you for days on end, mainly because it is a story that could occur on any given day to anyone. So random, reminding viewers that you can’t ever know everything about what is brewing in someone’s head and reiterating it’s always wise to be polite and caring towards everyone you come in contact with; it might just save your life.

I enjoyed speaking with Director Carter Smith about his new film. During the interview, we talked about the characters in the movie, how it was working with Blumhouse again, the blending of genres and elements, and how he got attached to this project.
