The first thing you might think as you watch the opening shots of The Passenger trailer is, not another home invasion movie. But as it goes along you realize it is much more than that although the narrative isn’t entirely clear. Is this a queer Hitcher? Is it a slasher? Is it a reimagining of Natural Born Killers?

Unfortunately, we will have to wait until August 4 to find out.

Directed under the moody lens of Carter Smith (The Ruins, Swallowed), The Passenger has caught our attention and we are sure it’s going to grab yours too.

Logline: Randy (Johnny Berchtold) is perfectly content fading into the background. But when his coworker Benson (Kyle Gallner) goes on a sudden and violent rampage leaving a trail of destruction in his wake, Randy is forced to face his fears and confront his troubled past to survive.

Buy or Rent The Passenger on Digital and on Demand on August 4, 2023.
