Richard Connell’s short story The Most Dangerous Game is getting another go on film with another re-imagining. This time around Bruce Dern, Judd nelson and Casper Van Dien will join the cast. Justin Lee will both write and direct.
The reboot will be an adaptation of the 1932 film.
This reboot goes begins like this:
Father and son are washed ashore after their steamership explodes. The men find refuge on a mysterious island where their nefarious host, Baron Von Wolf, reveals to them that the island is his game preserve where human beings serve as the ultimate hunt.
The film will also star Tom Berenger (Platoon), and Chris “CT” Tamburello (MTV’s The Challenge). Other members of the cast include Elissa Dowling, Kevin Porter, Eddie Finlay, and Randy Charach.
The synopsis for 1932’s The Most Dangerous Game went like this:
When legendary hunter Bob Rainsford (Joel McCrea) is shipwrecked on the perilous reefs surrounding a mysterious island, he finds himself the guest of the reclusive and eccentric Count Zaroff (Leslie Banks). While he is very gracious at first, Zaroff eventually forces Rainsford and two other shipwreck survivors, brother and sister Eve (Fay Wray) and Martin Towbridge (Robert Armstrong), to participate in a sadistic game of cat and mouse in which they are the prey and he is the hunter.
The Most Dangerous Game is set for a summer 2022 release.
