Yet another shark movie is adding more fatigue to an already drenched genre but this one is kind of special because it’s Julian Sand’s last movie role. Titled The Last Breath, you can Madlib the plot in your head. And maybe RLJE didn’t realize they were summarizing the entire movie with their trailer.
Still, if there is a shark movie, people will watch it and since it’s Sands’ last film, his fans will want to see it. Sands has a massive list of roles he’s played over the years. His most famous might be as the title character in 1989’s Warlock. He also had a small role in Arachnophobia (1990) and Rose Red (2002). But overall he had an extensive career on the big and small screen.
He died in 2023 from “undetermined causes” after his remains were found in Southern California’s San Gabriel Mountains. It appears he had been hiking there. He was 65.
The Last Breath follows, “a group of old college friends who reunite on a Caribbean scuba diving trip exploring the wreckage of a WWII battleship and find themselves trapped inside the underwater labyrinth of rusted metal surrounded by great white sharks.”
In theaters and everywhere you rent movies July 26.
