Stephen King writes great horror stories. His novels have changed the way horror functions and has given us some of the most memorable bad guys and literary frights of all time. So, we all love and trust him in the horror community. That trust is especially true when it comes to King suggesting movies, comics, or games. I mean if the creator of Pennywise the Clown and Jack Torrance thinks that some new film is great, the chances are it is.
King has made himself right at home as a welcome armchair, Twitter critic. The latest Netflix series that King has rightfully gone gaga over is The Tourist. King took to Twitter to announce his love for the new series. Here he excitedly states that The Tourist “flat-out terrific.”
THE TOURIST (Netflix): Don’t know what happens after the first episode, but the opening chapter is flat-out terrific. Exciting, suspenseful, mysterious…and full of the kindness of strangers to someone down on his luck.
The Tourist began its first season on HBO Max. At this point, the entire second season was filmed and ready to stream. However, HBO Max and the BBC had no plans on airing the already completed season 2. This is where Netflix came in and saved the day along with season 2 of The Tourist. They premiered season one at the beginning of February. The six-episode run is tight with plenty of tension. It is easy to see why and how King became a fan of the series. The entirety of the first episode is clearly playing in the horror genre pool.
The synopsis for The Tourist goes like this: A man wakes up in the Australian Outback with no recollection of who he is, and he must try to piece together his memory as merciless figures from his past pursue him.
