It may have taken an eternity, but the new Salem’s Lot adaptation is nearly upon us. For better or worse, the film will be presented on Max on October 11th, 2024. The film has faced numerous delays, and information about the retelling has been somewhat sparse until recently.
However, a new clip dropped today that promises to deliver the iconic Stephen King creepiness. Entertainment Weekly provided the clip this morning and shared the following statement about the film:
“The premise remains the same: Ben Mears, a best-selling author, returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot, Maine, seeking a change of scenery and a dose of creative inspiration. Despite falling for Susan Norton, who has bigger dreams beyond her small town, he couldn’t have come at a worse time.”
It seems as though every spooky season is accompanied by another round of King adaptations. Will this Salem’s Lot adaptation be worth the wait? We hope so. If not, you can always watch the previous two adaptations to get your vampire fix.
