PUMA Celebrates Holiday Season with Exclusive ‘Gremlins’ Collection

PUMA is all set to go retro this holiday season with its exclusive ‘Gremlins’ collection, a nostalgic throwback to the beloved 80s movie. The highlight of this collection is the Gremlins x PUMA All-Pro NITRO sneakers, set to release globally on December 8, 2023. These unique sneakers, a perfect blend of style and nostalgia, will be available at PUMA retailers, both in-store and online at PUMA.com, as well as through the PUMA NYC flagship store and select third-party retailers.
Designed to capture the essence of the iconic film, the Gremlins x PUMA All-Pro NITRO sneakers are priced at $140. Each pair showcases a creative dichotomy: one shoe mirrors the appearance of Gizmo while the other is inspired by Stripe. Distinctive features include two heads on the backside, a furry tongue reminiscent of Mogwai, and Gremlin-esque scratch marks on the bottom, offering a unique mismatched experience.

But the collection offers more than just footwear. It also includes a range of apparel such as Gremlins hoodies, tees, and sweatpants. This array of clothing starts at $45, allowing fans of the film to fully immerse themselves in its iconic style and theme.
This release from PUMA follows in the footsteps of Adidas, which launched its own Gremlins-themed footwear back in 2020. However, PUMA takes the concept to new heights with its comprehensive range of products, offering something for every fan of the film and those who appreciate the nostalgia of the 1980s. Mark your calendars for December 8th to grab a piece of this exclusive collection.

‘Darkman’ is Getting a 4K Release Early Next Year

Not all superheroes come from Marvel or DC, some come from the mind of a horror movie director (who would eventually go on to direct a Marvel movie). Sam Raimi was ahead of his time with 1990’s Darkman, and it’s finally getting a 4K Collector’s Edition release on February 20.
Perhaps this movie started Liam Neeson’s revenge-thriller movie path, Darkman had a stressful post-production period. A film editor had a nervous breakdown and left after Raimi reprimanded him for not following his storyboards. Then, test audiences hated the initial film calling it “the worst movie they had ever seen.”
After some re-tooling and hiring Danny Elfman to do the score, Darkman did a complete 180, becoming a critical and box-office hit. Marvel decided they wanted a piece of the action and developed comic books based on the character soon after.
The Scream Factory 4K edition is available for pre-order now at a cost of $35.99 for the paper sleeve release. The steelbook edition is $47.99. Both are available for pre-order. Sadly no special features have been specified at this writing.

NECA Unveils Special Edition Figures for “House of 1000 Corpses” 20th Anniversary

NECA (National Entertainment Collectibles Association) has announced the release of two exclusive action figures to mark the 20th anniversary of Rob Zombie’s cult classic, “House of 1000 Corpses”. The figures, set to be released in March 2024, are a nod to the film’s enduring legacy in the horror genre.
The first of these commemorative figures is the “Captain Spaulding (Tailcoat) 20th Anniversary Figure.” This 7” scale figure captures the iconic look of Captain Spaulding, dressed in his distinctive red, white, and blue ringmaster attire. The figure is detailed with accessories including a hat, baton, and an interchangeable hand, embodying the character’s sinister yet charismatic presence.

Joining Captain Spaulding is the “Otis (Red Robe) 20th Anniversary Figure.” Also in a 7” scale, this figure portrays the legendary serial killer Otis, another central character from the film. Dressed in a red robe and skull makeup, the figure comes equipped with a book and lantern, adding to its eerie appeal.

Both figures will be packaged in specially designed 20th anniversary window box packaging, making them standout pieces for display. This release is a testament to the lasting impact of “House of 1000 Corpses” in the horror film industry and its cult status among fans.
As NECA continues to celebrate the art of horror cinema through its collectibles, these figures are sure to be a hit among collectors and fans of the genre, promising to add a unique touch to any collection of horror memorabilia. Visit NECA’s store here.
