Poster Foretells Jason Voorhees’s Return in Bryan Fuller’s “Crystal Lake”

Jason

Bryan Fuller is working on Peacock’s Friday the 13th return with a prequel that focuses on Jason’s youth. The new series is very exciting considering Fuller was behind Hannibal. Also, its just going to be great to see Jason back in general.

Well, Creepy Duck Designs is excited too and today a rad poster was Tweeted to show Jason as a boy with his reflection as hockey mask Jason within the waters of Crystal Lake.

The synopsis for the first Friday the 13th went like this:

Crystal Lake’s history of murder doesn’t deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people — Jack (Kevin Bacon), Alice (Adrienne King), Bill (Harry Crosby), Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) and Ned (Mark Nelson) — pay little heed to the old-timers. Then they find themselves stalked by a brutal killer. As they’re slashed, shot and stabbed, the counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent.

Creepy Duck Design’s poster really has us dying to see what Fuller cooks up. Hopefully the wait won’t be incredibly long.

Are you excited to have Jason back?

The Grinch Goes for Gore in ‘The Mean One’

Mean

The Mean One takes The Grinch and inserts a lot of gore and horror into its foundation. Recently, movies like this one and Winnie The Pooh’s Blood and Honey are taking beloved tales and turning them to horror. We can totally get behind the new trend. The Mean One stars Terrifier’s Art the Clown actor David Howard Thornton as The Grinch. That’s just one more reason to be excited about the macabre take on the classic Suess tale.

The synopsis for The Mean One goes like this:

“a hairy, green-skinned grump in a Santa suit, living on a mountain high above the town of Newville, despising the holiday season. Young Cindy You-Know-Who (Krystle Martin), whose parents were butchered by The Mean One twenty Christmases earlier, is returning to town to seek closure… but when the Mean One launches a new reign of terror that threatens to destroy Christmas, Cindy finds a bold new purpose – trapping and killing the monster.”

We can’t wait for the trailer for this one. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long since the full teaser drops on Monday (November 28).The Mean One arrives in theaters beginning December 9.

‘Fear’ Trailer Introduces an Entity That Makes Your Worst Fears Come True

Published

Fear

Deon Taylor is severely underrated as a director and producer. His work has been a penchant of horror, thriller and social commentary that is absolutely biting. These have included Fatale, Black and Blue, The Intruder, Traffik, and more. His latest film, Fear takes a group of friends on a vacation who come across an entity that is capable of making your worse fears come true.

Taylor’s work is a tapestry of a throwback to grindhouse thrillers combined with a strong current of the strongest of black filmmaking voices in the 1970s. I’m always on the lookout for what Taylor is up to next.

The synopsis for Fear goes like this:

In this psychological horror film, a group of friends gather for a much-needed weekend getaway at a remote and historic hotel.  Celebration turns into terror as one by one, each guest faces their own worst fear.

The film stars Joseph Sikora Andrew Bachelor, Annie Ilonzeh, Ruby Modine, Iddo Goldberg, Terrence Jenkins, Jessica Allain and TIP “T.I.” HARRIS.

Fear arrives in theaters beginning January 27.
