People Are Going Gaga for the ‘Wednesday’ Dance on TikTok

Published

on

Like a siren’s song, people have become enthralled by Jenna Ortega’s dance number in her immensely popular Netflix series Wednesday. The show which debuted in late November continues to climb the streaming charts and has even broken a Netflix record for being the most-watched English language show on the streamer in a single week.

Perhaps one of the most popular episodes is the fourth one in which our titular character played by Ortega reluctantly attends a school dance with a possible love interest, “normie” Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).

The song “Goo Goo Muck” by The Cramps plays and Wednesday overtakes the dance floor in a series of weird movements that have her classmates trilling in awe. Ortega said in an interview that she came up with the routine all by herself, although she admits to not being the best at cutting a rug.

“I choreographed that myself! I’m not a dancer and I’m sure that’s obvious,” she told NME. “I’d gotten the song [‘Goo Goo Muck’] about a week before and I just pulled from whatever I could… it’s crazy because it was my first day with COVID so it was awful to film … I asked to redo it but we didn’t have time. I think I probably could have done it a bit better…”

It appears that fans think she did just fine. Her freakish voguing has become a viral sensation and TikTok users are making it a trend. But there is a twist. Dancers are not performing to the Cramps song, instead, they have adopted a sped-up version of Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” even though that track isn’t in the series.

Even Mother Monster herself noticed the uptick in the popularity of her song and Tweeted her approval:

Even though “Bloody Mary” is more utilized in the memes, there are some purists who remained faithful to the show, the dance scene and the Cramps song.

Although a second season hasn’t been officially announced, creators have hinted that they have at least a few seasons of storyline ideas already mapped out.

Co-creator Miles Millar told Variety the series will always make Wednesday Addams the focus of the show since her name is literally the title, but, show writers, “definitely want to feature the family as we did this season in a couple of episodes if we were to get a second season.”

Wednesday is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.

John Wick in Development for a Sequel and a Video Game

Published

on

John Wick 4 was a complete blast and the ending pointed at the odd fact that John Wick might actually be… dead. I didn’t believe it for a second. Not John Wick. The dude is a tank. Lionsgate has already greenlit development for a John Wick 5.

That isn’t all the studio has in store though. It also appears that we will receive a big triple-A game based on the Baba Yaga.

“What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year,” President of Lionsgate Joe Drake said, “We’re in development on three others, including and including television series, “The Continental”, will be airing soon. And so, we’re building out the world and when that fifth movie comes, will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we’re starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick.”

In addition to those awesome projects, we also have The Continental TV spinoff coming and a whole new Ballerina film based on the assassins introduced in John Wick 3.

The synopsis for John Wick 4 went like this:

With the price on his head ever increasing, legendary hit man John Wick takes his fight against the High Table global as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Japan to Berlin.
