The usually PG-13 Funko Pop toy line is getting a little bit bolder. They announced a new collectible that will feature Cocaine Bear, the buzziest movie of 2023 so far.
It’s probably no surprise to anyone with an internet connection that Cocaine Bear is receiving some solid reviews. The action/comedy/horror opus has already earned $2M in preview sales at the box office.
Funko is usually not one to push the envelope when it comes to their figurines. They get bloody yes, but their most frightening release may have been Pennywise from It, holding Georgie’s severed arm.
For Cocaine Bear, they are doing the bloody limb bit, but they are also adding another variant in which the bear is eating one of the bales of cocaine.
This is pretty courageous for Funko, but that only makes the demand higher and the profits bigger. For collectors this might be the grail of the year.
