Nicole Kidman’s latest thriller, “Holland,” directed by Mimi Cave and written by Andrew Sodroski, delves into the unsettling secrets beneath a seemingly perfect Midwestern life.
Kidman portrays Nancy Vandergroot, a dedicated teacher and homemaker in Holland, Michigan, who enjoys an idyllic existence with her husband, Fred (Matthew Macfadyen), and their son, Harry (Jude Hill). The tranquility of their lives is disrupted when Nancy and her colleague, Dave Delgado (Gael García Bernal), uncover hidden truths that challenge their perceptions of reality.
Director Mimi Cave describes the film as having an “odd sort of offbeat humor,” drawing inspiration from Kidman’s role in “To Die For.” “Holland” is set to premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on March 9, 2025, and will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting March 27, 2025.
