The gruel tide is fast approaching and that means a new entry into Damien Leone’s Terrifier series. The new trailer for Terrifier 3 dropped today, and as we expected, Art the Clown is back but this time bringing with him some Christmas fear.
Terrifier 2 (2022) was a massive success in independent film terms. That in turn pricked up major studio’s ears enough to offer to finance Leone’s third movie, but the director refused, saying his idea for the very first scene in the movie is so controversial a major label would never approve it. Keeping the films under his control independently means he can govern his creative vision without prejudice.
He even teased fans to bring barf bags to use during the film’s opening sequence.
Terrifier 2 outdid its predecessor in terms of gory special effects overseen by Leone himself which means this third chapter might be his bloodiest yet. It’s hard to speculate what the director has in store for viewers this time, but if it’s anything like what he has done in the past, it will be a fever dream of stylized visuals, and offbeat plot points fueled by a heavy stream of stage blood, detached limbs and creative depravity.
Terrifier 3 will release theatrically on October 11.
