Netflix Crashes After ‘Stranger Things 4’ Finale Drops

Published

You would think a powerhouse like Netflix could handle millions of people logging into the service awaiting the second volume of Stranger Things 4. But alas, that wasn’t the case, as millions flooded the servers to get that sweet, sweet finale to the penultimate season, the streamer went dark.

The problem happened at about 3 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time when the last two episodes dropped on the streamer. According to Variety, complaints started flooding in by the thousands before the company resolved the issue. That took about half an hour to resolve.

Netflix

This season of Stranger Things has been a juggernaut for Netflix. It has become the number one English language series on the service. Squid Game is number one in the foreign-language category.

As this season of Stranger Things wraps up, we still have another to look forward to. But that’s going to have to wait until, well, we don’t know when — but it was renewed for a final fifth season this past February.

The question is, will series creators The Duffer Brothers be able to continue to recapture the magic the series has built and take it to the series finale?

We’ll have to see if fans think so and possibly crash Netflix again when that day arrives.

Beetlejuice

Tim Burton’s Wednesday arrived on Netflix just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The eight-episode series is a quick binge that is fun and filled with Burton easter eggs. Of course, the trailer alone gave us a look of star, Jenna Ortega dressed as Burton’s Batman Return’s Catwoman. However, not long after digging into the series, audiences will get a look at a gigantic Beetlejuice homage.

If you recall, in Beetlejuice the poltergeist sets out to scare the Deetz family out of the house. These methods involved turning into a giant snake. The creature had the head of Beetlejuice and was beyond memorable. Well, Wednesday features a creature that has a very familiar-looking face.

Yep, there is no avoiding it, y’all. The creature in Wednesday is undoubtedly inspired by Burton’s ghost with the most.

Walking

The Walking Dead may have just come to its big finale, but already we have a peek at what comes next. Both, Negan and Maggie are continuing their adventure in New York City. The stakes are very high in the new series and even the undead seemed to have upped their carnage.

The synopsis for The Walking Dead: Dead City goes like this:

“Maggie and Negan traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.”

Dead City isn’t the only expanded universe series we will be receiving either. Norman Reedus is also heading overseas to do battle with foreign zombies. The good thing about a zombie plague is that you can never run out of material or sources.

Are you looking forward to Maggie and Negan’s Walking Dead series? Are you happy to see the show continuing?
