The new film Motion Detected is now available on Cable VOD and Digital HD from Freestyle Digital Media. Motion Detected is a new Psychological Thriller that brings a new eerie meaning to home security!

Synopsis: Eva narrowly escaped being murdered during a recent terrifying home invasion in Mexico City. She and her husband decide to relocate to Los Angeles, where she can recuperate. But when her husband has to travel for business, she’s left alone in an unfamiliar place and suffering from paranoia. The smart home security system consoles her, but the technology is difficult to master, and she starts to wonder if it will actually keep her safe or take over her life.

Natasha Esca (Eva) & Carlo Mendez (Miguel) – Motion Detected

While home security systems are primarily designed to provide safety and peace of mind, a few aspects could make them scary or unsettling for some people. The new film Motion Detected explores these aspects and takes them all to a new level. The fear of intelligent tech has begun embedding itself within the horror genre, creating a new sub-genre, rearing its head in films such as Paranormal Activity and Meg3n.

Natasha Esca (Eva) – Motion Detected

Motion Detected does a decent job of combining the haunted house story with AI that has gone bad. The story was fun, I enjoyed the acting, and my hat goes off to Natasha Esca, as in many of the scenes, she was acting by herself and was able to continue to keep the pacing of the movie flowing. I often wonder what this film could have been if there had been more time and money, but nonetheless, a solid picture.

In my interview, I speak with Director Justin Gallaher and Actress Natasha Esca about their experiences shooting the film, the derivative of the film’s narrative, the house and filming locations used in the movie, and we touch upon the unnerving sensation that home security systems can project onto their tenants. This was exciting, and I hope you all enjoy it!
