Lovecraft Country

Lovecraft Country made a strong showing in today’s Emmy nominations garnering a total of 18 nominations across the Drama categories–the Emmy’s do not have a specific genre classification for horror.

Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Freeman, a young man who travels across the segregated South of the 1950s in search of his missing father. The journey brings the young man face to face with the evils of racism as well as the monstrous figures of Lovecraft’s eeriest tales. The series was developed by Misha Green and based on a novel by the same name written by Matt Ruff. The list of nominations come in the wake of the shows recent cancellation at HBO after only one season.
