This is one board game that will be exciting to see. Trick or Treat Studios announced that they are creating a tabletop board game based on House of 1000 Corpses. The officially licensed board game will be funded through Kickstarter. You can follow the campaign here for when it officially launches. The game is officially titled House of 1000 Corpses: The Game. The company states: “Travel through iconic locations from the movie, and hunt down as many victims as possible, with their fate in your hands, in either solo or co-op gameplay!” The standard edition of the game will retail at $59.99.

According to an interview from ICV2 with Joe Stoken (Director of Business Development at ToTs), he stated: “When we asked [Zombie] if we could make this game, he only agreed to it on the condition that you get to play the bad guys…“He then went on to say “So, in this game, you can choose to play Captain Spaulding, Otis, Mother, or Baby.” These quotes were provided by an article from Comicbook.com.

House of 1000 Corpses was directed by Rob Zombie and debuted in theaters on April 11th, 2003. The film was divided among critics and audiences earning a 21% Critic and a 65% Audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It went on to make $16.8M on a $7M budget. It has since gained a huge cult following. The film synopsis states: “Two young couples traveling across the backwoods of Texas searching for urban legends of murder end up as prisoners of a bizarre and sadistic backwater family of serial killers.“
