The first film in the Hellboy reboot, The Crooked Man is getting closer to a release date. The first trailer was released on X today. Jack Kesy is taking over the lead role made famous by Ron Perlman and David Harbour.

Guillermo del Toro directed the original films (2004/2008) and a third was planned to round out the trilogy. However, Del Toro didn’t return causing Perlman to leave the project. As a result Hellboy (2019) was turned into a reboot, and now The Crooked Man will follow suit.

The court of the social media comment section hasn’t been kind to the newest trailer, but that’s to be expected with a popular franchise like Hellboy.

Still, some are supportive of the latest iteration:

In this story, “Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent get stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia and discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man.”

Tell us your opinion of this new trailer. Hellboy: The Crooked Man is scheduled to hit theaters later this year.
