Shark movies are a constant in the world of things that I will watch no matter the quality. The latest offering of sharks eating humans is the Martin Wilson directed Great White. A film that does all those things we love about shark films. Meaning, humans get eaten in this one too.
The synopsis for Great White goes like this:
A blissful tourist trip turns into a nightmare when five seaplane passengers are stranded miles from shore. In a desperate bid for survival, the group tries to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by a menacing terror lurking just beneath the surface.
Like I said, it’s another shark bonanza. I do wish that we could get away from CG sharks. Maybe we are at a point in which we can create a mechanical shark like Jaws’ Bruce that will work and not give the crew a ton of problems. Or maybe not. Shark films are still something I will always watch. Even the bad ones are added to my collection. They can’t all be Jaws but they can still give us a good bloody time at sea.
Great White is due to hit the waters of Shudder on November 11.
