Terrifier 3 is not even in theaters yet and Damien Leone is gearing up to do a fourth. But that might be it for the series as the director told Games Radar via SFX that he fears “wearing out his welcome.”

“Because that does happen to all of my favourites,” Leone adds. “Almost always it happens to the slasher franchises where they make 10 of them. I want to have a solid franchise, whether it be a trilogy – or maybe a quadrilogy if I have one more in mind – where it starts, where it ends, and you can walk away with a satisfying conclusion and closure and say that was pretty cool. I know what that is. So that would be the goal.”

He already has the fourth movie plotted, “I had it mapped out since part two, honestly, which is huge. Knowing where you’re going to end it is probably the hardest thing — and I figured out the ending to this a while ago.”

Fans of Art the Clown, the killer mime that has been present throughout the entire Terrifier universe, don’t need to fret just yet. Terrifier 3 has yet to open in theaters (Oct. 11), and it could take a year or more to complete part four.
