This is exciting news if you are a fan of the recent trend of horror twists on classic tales. The Wrap reported that Iconic Events is releasing Cinderella’s Curse, which is described as “a gory twist on the classic fairy tale.” It is set to debut in theaters on April 26th of this year. Check out the trailer below.
The Wrap states: “The film stars Lauren Staerck as the famed young lady who finds freedom from her wicked stepmother with the help of her fairy godmother. Only this time, instead of sending her to a ball to find her prince, the godmother (Natasha Henstridge) helps Cinderella unleash a plan of bloody vengeance.”
The film is directed by Andy Edwards and was written by Tom Jolliffe. It is being produced by Mark Lester, Jessica Mathis, Cami Winikoff, and Mark Amin. The film stars Lauren Staerck, Natasha Henstridge, Stephanie Lodge, Beatrice Fletcher, Megan Purvis, and Darrell Griggs.
Producer Mark Lester told the Wrap, “I’m so excited for audiences to see this newly imagined horror version of Cinderella in theaters. The picture is scary and fun at the same time, and horror fans will love it”. This isn’t the only Cinderella horror film coming out as Cinderella’s Curse is set to debut sometime this year.
