I’m not going to lie, all this Chucky news is some of the most exciting things going on in the horrorsphere. SYFY’s Chucky looks like it’s going to be a blast and if you take into consideration that Don Mancini will be heading this thing up, we are completely gangbusters. The latest rad bit of Chucky news, following that already great trailer we shared earlier this week, is the casting of a young and evil Charles Lee Ray.
Turns out, 2019’s The Prodigy and it’s ultra evil adolescent villain, will take on the role of Charles Lee Ray in Chucky. David Kohlsmith is all set to step into another evil kids mindset. He was absolutely owned the horror in The Prodigy. I’m sure he will do amazing here as well.
Before everyone loses their minds. I do want to point out that Brad Dourif will once again give voice to Chucky. The whole Charles Lee Ray adolescent thing will be something totally different.
The synopsis for Chucky goes like this:
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
Chucky’s eight-episode series premieres on USA Network and SYFY beginning October 12. Are you excited about the choice for young Charles Lee Ray? Let us know in the comments section.
