Not wasting any time getting back into his true crime series Monster, Ryan Murphy is already filming a follow-up series, this time focusing on serial killer and cannibal Ed Gein. It stars Charlie Hunnam as the notorious killer.
The success of his Menendez Brothers chapter on Netflix made stars of its leads Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez. That same spotlight will surely shine on as he transforms into Gein.

The 44-year-old actor is probably a little more established in the entertainment world than either Koch or Chavez. He has starred in may projects including Children of Men (2006), Pacific Rim (2013), and more recently Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023).
Gein is an iconic monster whose crimes awarded him the nickname, Plainfield Ghoul. In 1957, it was discovered that he liked to dig up graves and use the remains as decorative items in his house. He admitted to killing two people, but it is believed he was connected to several unsolved crimes.

Murphy’s series isn’t subtle. He is known for the graphic and disturbing images he brings to his Monster series. Both the Dahmer and Menendez chapters were unsettling and graphic. Don’t expect him to hold back on Gein, the man who inspired movies such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Psycho.

No word on when this latest chapter will be released.
