‘Devil’s Workshop’ Trailer Gives a Lesson in Demonology and Frights

Workshop

An actor goes all-out for a role in the tense trailer for Devil’s Workshop. Emile Hirsch and Timothy Granaderos go head to head for the same role when one of them gets the idea to go through a real course of demonology and exorcism to get an upper hand on the part. It doesn’t take long for him to realize that he made a huge mistake in pairing up with the insidious Eliza (Radha Mitchell).

We are huge fans of Radha ever since her role in Silent Hill. Plus, it’s great to see her in a role as evil and devilishly fun as this one seems to take her.

The synopsis for Devil’s Workshop goes like this:

In this chilling psychological thriller featuring Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), struggling actor Clayton (Timothy Granaderos) is desperate for a role as a demonologist. He contacts Eliza (Radha Mitchell, Man on Fire), an expert in devil lore, to help him prepare and spends the weekend at her home. Eliza forces Clayton to confront his troubling past, perform dark rituals, and sacrifice a goat. Does she want to help Clayton, seduce him—or destroy him? The shocking climax will set your soul ablaze.

The film stars Emile Hirsch (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Into The Wild), Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill, Pitch Black, Man on Fire and Timothy Granaderos  (“13 Reasons Why,” “Runaways”).

Devil’s Workshop drops onto digital beginning September 30.

Hollow

Marlon Wayans stars in the upcoming Halloween Netflix bash, The Curse of Bridge Hollow. This one looks to bring Halloween to life as part of a curse and it’s up to Wayans and his fam to fight a townful of murderous Halloween decorations. As far as gateway horror and starting the kids of with something spooky-lite this season, this looks pretty great.

The synopsis for The Curse of Bridge Hollow goes like this:

A father (Marlon Wayans) and his teenage daughter (Priah Ferguson) are forced to team up and save their town after an ancient and mischievous spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow stars Marlon Wayans, Priah Ferguson, Kelly Rowland, Rob Riggle, John Michael Higgins, Nia Vardalos, Lauren Lapkus, Holly J. Barrett, Myles Vincent Perez, Abi Monterey and Helen Slayton-Hughes.

This one comes to Netflix beginning October 14.

‘Chucky’ Season 2 Trailer is Filled With Muderous Chaos

Chucky

Chucky’s second season is almost here and judging from the trailer this year’s season is going to be full of chaos and a whole lot of Chucky dolls murdering a whole lot of folks. The new trailer gives us a new backdrop of a religious sort, this is nicely paired with a cover of REM’s Losing My Religion to boot. I’m also really loving seeing Glen and Glenda back in the franchise. Plus, the drama between Nica and Tiffany rules.

The synopsis for Chucky goes like this:

“Chucky is a continuation of the iconic film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy. Meanwhile, can “Jevon” make it as a couple in the face of adversity at their new Catholic school, not to mention a brand-new onslaught of terror from the demon doll?”

I’ve been a huge fan of the direction that the series has taken. Plus, seeing Don Mancini back in charge of good ole’ Chucky makes things feel right again and as they should be.

Chucky season two arrives on USA and SYFY beginning October 5.
