by admin

Christmas Eve is already here, and I have yet to make a dent in my horror Christmas watch list. I can remember a time when just a few films existed; it felt as though there were not enough. After the past several years this has all changed, so many great films capturing that holiday horror that we all so desire. If you’re feeling overwhelmed this holiday season, check out this list of yuletide horror, there might just be one that you haven’t seen or even forgotten. Some honorable mentions that are not on this list: The Silent Night Deadly Night Sequels, Jack Frost 2, Black Xmas (1974), Better Watch Out, & Red Christmas.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

8 – A Christmas Horror Story (2015)

Not even Santa Claus is safe from the evil that descends on Bailey Downs, a small town that is suddenly plagued with malevolent spirits, zombie elves and Krampus — the anti-Santa Claus.

7 – Krampus (2015)

While the holiday season represents the most magical time of year, ancient European folklore warns of Krampus, a horned beast who punishes naughty children at Christmastime. When dysfunctional family squabbling causes young Max (Emjay Anthony) to lose his festive spirit, it unleashes the wrath of the fearsome demon. As Krampus lays siege to the Engel home, mom (Toni Collette), pop (Adam Scott), sister (Stefania LaVie Owen) and brother must band together to save one another from a monstrous fate.

6 – Black X Mas (2006)

The holiday season turns deadly for a group of sorority sisters (Katie Cassidy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lacey Chabert, Michelle Trachtenberg) who are stranded at their campus house during a snowstorm. These coeds better watch out, for a vicious killer is on the loose, and he will not care if they are naughty or nice.

5 – P2 (2007)

Angela (Rachel Nichols) is working late on Christmas Eve. When she finally decides to leave, she goes down to the parking garage to get her car, but it won’t start. Thomas (Wes Bentley), the garage’s security guard, offers to help. He also invites Angela to dinner, but she refuses. Thomas, crazed, knocks her out. She wakes up in Thomas’ office, chained to a chair and in different clothes. Now Angela must fight for her life in order the escape from the garage.

4 – Jack Frost (1997)

As notorious serial killer Jack Frost (Scott MacDonald) is being driven to his execution, the truck carrying the murderer encounters a bizarre accident that transforms him into a mutant snowman. Sheriff Sam Tiler (Christopher Allport), who caught the psychopath originally, has remained concerned about his return, and it seems that his fears were well-founded. Before long, bodies pile up, all killed in gruesome wintry ways. Can the sheriff stop Frost’s icy reign of terror?

3 – Silent Night (2012)

A vicious killer dressed as Santa Claus hides in plain sight during a small town’s annual Christmas festivities.

2 – Silent Night Deadly Night (1984)

An orphan raised by nuns (Lilyan Chauvin, Gilmer McCormick) grows up to be a killer toy-store Santa Claus.
