Yellow Veil Picture’s latest film, Knocking looks to be very our speed. It’s one of those films that looks to be working 100-percent off of the atmosphere and holy hell does the atmosphere look creepy. The finished product looks like Roman Polanski’s Repulsion combined with The Tenant with a little body horror thrown in for good measure.
The synopsis for Frida Kempff’s Knocking goes like this:
After suffering a traumatic incident, Molly (Cecilia Milocco) moves into a new apartment to begin her path to recovery, but it’s not long after her arrival that a series of persistent knocks and screams begin to wake her up at night. Molly’s new life begins to unravel as the screams intensify and no one else in the building believes or is willing to help her.
Yellow Veil Pictures hasn’t produced anything that we haven’t loved, so we are very much anticipating this one. I love these claustrophobic tales of self-isolated madness.
Knocking lands in theaters on Oct. 8 and on VOD and Digital beginning Oct. 18.
