Upcoming ALIEN Toy Based on 1992 Video Game
The third installment of the Alien franchise, released in 1992, introduced us to ‘Runners,’ which are more commonly referred to as ‘Dog Aliens’ – due to the fact that they walk on all fours. Last year, NECA released a Dog Alien action figure, and this year a video game variant bursts into our lives.
In conjunction with Alien 3, a same-named video game came out in 1992, originally for Sega Master System and then later for NES and Sega Genesis. In the game, Ripley lands on a barren planet and finds that it’s infested with Dog Aliens, forced to do battle with the quadruped monsters.
Just announced today, the latest toy in NECA’s popular video game line will be one of the Dog Aliens from the 8-bit game, the unique color scheme matching the game’s stylized look. The figure stands almost 10″ tall, with over 30 points of articulation, including an extendable inner mouth and bendable tail.
Like all the toys in the line, Dog Alien will come in special window box packaging to re-create the look and feel of the classic video game cartridge box. It’s expected to begin shipping in June of this year.

‘Stranger Things’ VR Trailer Puts the Upside Down in Your Living Room

Stranger Things is getting very real this year. It appears that the experience will go virtual and bring the world of Mind Flayers and all kinds of other Upside Down creatures into your very own living room. Good luck keeping the carpet clean.
The folks at Tender Claws are bringing the game to Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro. All in and around the Fall of 2023.
Perhaps best of all we are going to be playing as Vecna while trapped in the Upside Down and beyond. The entire thing looks pretty dang cool over all and certainly has the aesthetic to drag you into this world.
The description for Stranger Things VR goes like this:
Play as Vecna and head to the Upside Down in Stranger Things VR. Check out the trailer to see some of the creepy areas and creatures as you invade people’s minds, harness telekinetic powers, and take revenge against Hawkins, Eleven and crew.
