Ray Stevenson has passed away at the age of 58 years old. Stevenson is set to play the villain’s role in the upcoming Star Wars: Ahsoka. The actor brought Frank Castle to life in The Punisher: War Zone. That particular Punisher entry gave a very bloody home to the Marvel anti-hero.
At the moment there hasn’t been a cause of death that has been announced. At 58 years old, the action actor was still relatively young.
The synopsis for The Punisher: War Zone goes like this:
Frank Castle, aka The Punisher (Ray Stevenson), turns the streets of New York City red as he wages a one man war against the crime syndicate responsible for the death of his wife and two kids. Aided by his trusted sidekick, Microchip (Wayne Knight), he almost kills Billy Russoti (Dominic West) and leaves him horribly disfigured. Billy renames himself Jigsaw and with the help of his crazed brother Loony Bin Jim, recruits criminals from every corner of the city to do battle with Frank.
Stevenson worked in a lot of television before making a huge leap to the big screen and starring in a few really great pictures.
We are off to relive Stevenson in Punisher: Warzone. He will be missed and it will be interesting to see if he managed to finish his role in Star Wars: Ahsoka.
