One of horror’s creepiest haunted house entries is about to get the 4K UHD treatment. Amityville Horror is incredibly chilling and to this day it holds up incredibly well. I mean a house that tells you to “get out” and chokes you with flies isn’t exactly a nice place to be. Sadly, The Amityville films have gone off the deep end with titles like Amityville Shark, the original still holds up as one of the best.
The synopsis for the film goes like this:
When George Lutz (Ryan Reynolds) and his wife, Kathy (Melissa George), find a beautiful new house in the small town of Amityville, N.Y., they think the place is too good to be true. After they move in with their kids, they find out the cheap price tag is thanks to the house’s sordid history: The former tenant murdered his family after supposedly being possessed by the devil. Believing the home is haunted, the couple find a priest (Philip Baker Hall) to help them rid the place of evil spirits.

‘Red Triangle’ Invites Audiences to a Bloody Buffet for Hungry Sharks from ’47 Meters Down’ Director
Johannes Roberts has already given audiences two big helpings of sharksploitation with 47 Meters Down and its follow-up Uncaged. He also took some time to work on a pretty good Resident Evil adaptation. Now, Roberts is heading back to the world of killer sharks. He is focusing in on an area in which shark attacks aren’t unheard of. In Red Triangle audiences will witness a cruise ship that crashes leaving its guests to survive in open water where sharks are having a veritable human buffet.
According to Deadline the synopsis for Red Triangle goes like this:
“Set in Northern California — famous for its gorgeous beaches, but also known for a particular stretch of ocean that has a bloody reputation — The Red Triangle. Stretching south from Bodega Bay toward San Francisco and jutting out beyond the Farallon Islands and down to Big Sur south of Monterey, the Triangle encompasses around 200 miles of coastline, and is the site of almost half of all recorded great white shark attacks in the United States. When a cruise ship — a massive, floating, fully stocked resort with thousands of passengers — begins to sink in The Red Triangle, the feeding frenzy begins.”
“This shark-filled psychological horror/thriller will once again have moviegoers overwhelmed and on the edge of their seats watching great white sharks methodically terrorize a sinking family cruise ship.” said Media Group’s Founder, Chairman CEO Byron Allen.
Both of Roberts’s shark films have been incredibly high-octane underwater thrills. So, we are looking forward to him doing a shark film on a bigger scale.

Showtime Confirms Both ‘Dexter: Origins’ and More ‘Dexter: New Blood’
Dexter is coming back to Showtime. Despite the character meeting his demise, the network is still betting on two new series to bring fans in to watch. Dexter: Origins will focus on the fly-by-night serial killer in his youth. The series will reveal Dexter’s early days working with Miami Metro. It will also showcase younger versions of characters that we came to love. It is also being reported that characters like The Trinity Killer will make an appearance as well as a whole lot more.
The sky is the limit in terms of the direction that we can go in. However, this will entirely recast Michael C. Hall’s famous character. I’m not sure fans are ready for that kind of change at this point. It feels entirely too soon. But, who knows? We will have to wait and see.
In addition to Dexter: Origins and watching a younger Morgan in Miami Metro, we also have a continuation of Dexter: New Blood. This one will once again bring about Dexter’s son, Harrison following the events of that unexpected finale.
From what I recall, Harrison didn’t have a lot of fans but nonetheless, Showtime is doubling down on the character with a huge gamble. This will see Harrison return to New York City and find that he is plagued with the Dark Passenger just like dear ole’ dad. This will ultimately see the apple fall not very far from the tree.
Are you excited about Dexter: Origins and Dexter: New Blood? I’m really not a fan of Dexter: New Blood continuing the title of Michael C. Hall’s character without Hall being the focus of the series. I digress. Which are you looking forward to? Or… do you think that it is time for Dexter to hang things up and call it quits.
