Jodie Foster is an all-out icon. Going all the way back to her role in Taxi Driver to her role in Silence of the Lambs and the upcoming True Detective: Night Country she has remained a legend in the genre. As usual, it is great reading about what our favorite actors are into and even what they dislike or hate. Foster has been very vocal with her opinions on the Superhero genre in the past and now it seems that she has something to say about Gen-Z as well.
Recently, while chatting with The Guardian Foster spoke about Gen-Z and their work ethic when it came to working with them on projects.
“They’re really annoying, especially in the workplace. They’re like, ‘Nah, I’m not feeling it today, I’m gonna come in at 10.30am.’ Or, like, in emails, I’ll tell them this is all grammatically incorrect, did you not check your spelling? And they’re like, ‘Why would I do that, isn’t that kind of limiting?’”

As you can see she didn’t hold anything back. But, I think everyone can relate in one aspect or another. Maybe not about Gen-Z specifically, but we all know what it is like to work with that one person that makes your entire day longer or more draining than it needs to be.
Previously, Foster had gone on record about superhero films and it caused a big stir at the time. Looking back at it now, I’m not certain why or how though. If you read the quote carefully, she isn’t only saying bad things. She also said that she loved certain films from that genre as well.
“It’s a phase. It’s a phase that’s lasted a little too long for me, but it’s a phase, and I’ve seen so many different phases,” Foster said. “Hopefully people will be sick of it soon. The good ones — like ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Black Panther,’ ‘The Matrix’ — I marvel at those movies, and I’m swept up in the entertainment of it, but that’s not why I became an actor. And those movies don’t change my life. Hopefully, there’ll be room for everything else.”
We still love ya, Jodie!
