Well, this is a total surprise. During some very careful sleuthing, Bloody Disgusting magically located a very strange and sudden addition to director, Sean Cunningham’s Cameo page. While it strange that this isn’t on his IMDB or anywhere else it is still officially on his Cameo. We have been scratching our heads since reading this.
If you are a Friday the 13th fan you probably already know that there has been quite a legal battle between Sean Cunningham and Victor Miller. That is the writer and director of the original Friday the 13th. The back and forth between these two has been staggering. Due to the guys duking it out, we haven’t been able to watch a new Friday movie. In 2018 it seemed like all was finally resolved when Miller was awarded the rights to the actual screenplay for Friday the 13th. This seems like it would be a huge win but sadly that isn’t the case since Cunningham still owns some character rights. Confusing, yea?
So, why does Cunningham’s Cameo description say that the film has spawned 12 sequels with a 13th planned for next year? Why does he have this up? Is it to mess with fans? Did he do this to mess with Miller? We are totally confused. But, we are also slightly excited about it.
All we can do is wait and see!
